Thai breed – out of competition!

Cat Story

How long have you been in felinology?

We always had cats at home, but a thoroughbred kitten first appeared with me in the fall of 2004. Accordingly, I have been in professional felinology for more than 10 years.

With which breed did professional breeding of cats begin for you?

The first and so far the only one for me is the Thai breed.

Why did you choose this breed?

It was destined from above :). When I went for the kitten to the exhibition, I had no doubt that it would certainly be a cat and would certainly be a color point with blue eyes :). So it happened)

What was the name of your first cat?

Judging by childhood memories, the first cat was called Ksyusha, it was a metiska, a turtle with white. The first Thai cat’s name is Elba, she still feels great, despite her already, by cat’s standards, old age.

Your first exhibition as an expert – how did it go?

I was very nervous. I brought with me to the exhibition a bunch of standards and other materials, according to which I was preparing for exams :). But everything went much more positively than I imagined, thanks to the goodwill and support of teammates, judges, and exhibitors.

Have you had any experience breeding other breeds?

No, the Thai breed is beyond competition :), although I love many other breeds, which is why, in fact, I decided to become an expert.

Which exhibitions are more preferable to you: with traditional European refereeing or with rings?

I like both exhibition formats. Each has its pros and cons. In the ring, I even sometimes exhibit with my pets.

Your horoscope sign? (the date)

Capricorn, I was born on December 23.

You attend many exhibitions as an expert. In which country do you think Thai breed is most loved? And where, in your opinion, is the highest quality of livestock?

Of course, Russia has the highest quality of livestock and it is here that Thai breed is most loved. But Thais are also popular in Belarus, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, and many other European countries. If I see an animal in Europe that I like, I can immediately say that in his pedigree there are probably our Russian lines.

The most characteristic features of Thai cats that you love them for?

Intellectuality, curiosity, and spontaneity.

How do you like to relax?

Now there is such a rhythm of life that I prefer to relax with my family.

What is your favorite dish?

I prefer Russian, Georgian and Italian cuisine. From soft drinks, I like coffee and lemonade, from alcoholic drinks – dry sherry.

Do you have any other hobbies besides cats?

Yes, I love gardening, I like to read and travel, but cats are in the lead :).

What is an “ideal gift” for you?

An ideal gift is when you enjoy giving this gift to someone or receiving such a gift from someone.

Your life credo or motto?

I will answer with the words of Ostap Bender: “Always!” 🙂
